NIN Concerns Addressed as On-Site Enrollment Boosts APC E-Registration in Igbogbo/Baiyeku

Concerns over the absence of National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment facilities during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) Membership E-Registration exercise in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA) have been resolved following the deployment of officials of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to the area.

The Chairman of IBLCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, facilitated the intervention after residents reported difficulties completing their APC registration due to the lack of NIN, a mandatory requirement for the e-registration process.

The APC e-registration exercise, which began on January 5, 2026, has been progressing across the council area. However, feedback from the grassroots indicated that several interested participants were unable to register because they had not previously enrolled for their NIN.

To bridge the gap and ensure inclusive participation, NIMC officials have now been stationed at strategic locations within the LCDA to conduct on-the-spot enrollment alongside APC registration officers.

NIMC personnel are currently operating in the Ayegbami area of Igbogbo, serving Igbogbo Central and neighbouring communities, while another team has been deployed to the APC Party Secretariat in Ibeshe Kingdom. This arrangement allows residents without NIN to complete their enrollment and proceed immediately with APC e-registration.

Speaking on the development, Chairman Aroyewun urged residents to take advantage of the simplified process, stressing that the initiative was designed to remove barriers and encourage broad participation in the party’s registration exercise.

The council chairman also commended Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, for facilitating the digital equipment used for the exercise. He further acknowledged the contribution of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, for coordinating NIMC’s engagement and ensuring the timely deployment of personnel to the LCDA.

Residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA have been encouraged to visit the designated centres promptly to complete both their NIN enrollment and APC e-registration, as the nationwide exercise is expected to conclude later this month.
