 By-Elections: Lagos APC Says Results Affirm Tinubu’s Leadership, Signal 2027 Momentum

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described the outcome of the recent by-elections in Rivers and Kano States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a referendum on the leadership of Presidents Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, the Lagos chapter of the ruling party expressed appreciation to voters in the affected constituencies, saying the victories recorded by APC candidates reflect public confidence in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ongoing reforms.

According to the party, the results demonstrate that Nigerians acknowledge what it described as “bold leadership, economic reforms, infrastructural expansion, and institutional strengthening” under President Tinubu’s administration. It added that the electorate’s decision shows an understanding that governance requires patience, courage, and policy continuity.

The Lagos APC also took a swipe at opposition parties, arguing that despite what it termed “amplified digital activism,” opposition campaigns failed to convert social media traction into electoral success at the polls. The party maintained that democratic legitimacy is determined by votes cast, not online trends.

It further suggested that the by-election outcomes could be indicative of voter sentiment ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the APC’s performance at federal and state levels would strengthen its prospects in the next national poll.

The party commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the elections and praised security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the process.

Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the Lagos APC pledged to deepen internal cohesion and deliver what it described as the dividends of democracy to citizens across the country.

The statement called on Nigerians, including members of opposition parties, to collaborate in what it termed the collective task of building a stronger and more united nation.
