CP Olohundare Jimoh Decorates Over 80 Newly Promoted Officers, Commends IGP for Career Advancement Initiative
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police,Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has decorated 80 newly promoted officers, commending the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for approving their elevation from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The decoration ceremony, held at the Lagos State Command Headquarters, formally recognized the officers’ hard work, dedication, and professionalism, with family members, colleagues, and well-wishers in attendance.
Speaking at the event, CP Jimoh described the promotions as well-deserved and performance-based, reflecting a strict evaluation process that included examinations and interviews. “This promotion is a reward for consistent performance, commitment, and discipline. It is also a call to greater responsibility in serving the public and strengthening our police service,” he said.
The Commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to see their new ranks as an opportunity to rededicate themselves to the core mandate of the Force — protecting lives and property, enforcing the law, and maintaining public order. He assured that they would be strategically deployed across operational and administrative units within Lagos State to enhance service delivery and policing effectiveness.
CP Jimoh also commended the IGP for his focus on personnel welfare and career development, noting that timely promotions serve as a morale booster and reinforce professionalism within the Force. He encouraged the officers to align with the ongoing reform agenda, uphold discipline, and embrace community-focused policing.
The ceremony concluded with an interactive session, during which the Commissioner responded to questions and reiterated the Command’s commitment to supporting the vision of the Inspector-General in building a more efficient, responsive, and citizen-centered police force..
