IBLCDA Empowers 300 Students with Free JAMB Forms to Boost Access to Higher Education

Igbogbo/Baiyeku, 6th February 2026

In a major push to expand access to tertiary education, the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA) has distributed 300 free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration forms to indigent students across the council area. The initiative, led by Executive Chairman Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to human capital development.

The programme, implemented in partnership with the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Students’ Union, seeks to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while enabling academically qualified students to pursue higher education opportunities. The effort aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEME+ Agenda, both of which prioritize education, empowerment, and inclusive development.

At the distribution event, Chief Whip of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Saidat Adeoba, who represented the Executive Chairman, urged beneficiaries to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to academic excellence. She emphasized that the support is meant to help students gain admission this year and is not intended as a recurring benefit.

Mrs. Yemisi Osoba, Head of the Department of Education, encouraged the students to maintain resilience, uphold good conduct, and dedicate themselves to their studies despite challenges. Comrade Quadri Uthman Atebishe, Director of Studies at the Igbogbo Students’ Union, noted that the programme specifically targets academically prepared students who face financial constraints, praising the Chairman’s consistent support for education.

To ensure smooth registration, the Students’ Union President, Mr. Abdulmalik Yunus, and Representative Council Speaker, Miss Ogunbiyi Hafsoh, conducted an orientation session guiding students on accurate form completion and cautioning against mistakes that could jeopardize admission chances.

The initiative reinforces IBLCDA’s commitment to equitable education and sustainable youth development, urging beneficiaries to excel in their exams and secure admission into higher institutions, thereby justifying the council’s investment in their future.
