Mikano Motors Strengthens Lagos Security, Donates Max Pickup Fleet to LSSTF

In a renewed push to bolster security operations in Lagos State, Mikano Motors has donated a fleet of Max pickup vehicles to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), underscoring the growing role of private-sector partnerships in enhancing public safety and emergency response across the state.

Mikano Motors has reaffirmed its commitment to Lagos State’s security architecture with the donation of a fleet of Max pickup vehicles to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

The official handover ceremony took place at the Mikano Motors showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, where top executives of Mikano International Limited, led by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mofid Karameh, hosted officials of the LSSTF led by its Executive Secretary and CEO, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. The event featured a guided tour of the showroom and a high-level engagement between both organizations.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Karameh commended Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for what he described as significant investments and commitment to security, noting that improved safety remains a foundation for economic growth and prosperity in the state.

He explained that the Governor’s recent Private Sector Breakfast Meeting created an avenue for business leaders to better understand government efforts in securing lives and property, while also encouraging stronger private-sector participation. Karameh assured that Mikano International Limited would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening Lagos State’s security framework.

In recognition of the gesture, Dr. Ogunsan presented the LSSTF Distinguished Honor Award to Mikano International Limited, which was received by Mr. Karameh on behalf of the company.

The National Operations Manager of Mikano, Mr. Syam Abdulkadir, who conducted the formal handover, said the donation reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to the safety and well-being of Lagos residents.

“We are here today at the Mikano Motors showroom in Victoria Island to proudly show our support for the LSSTF by donating our Max pickup vehicles. This is a clear demonstration of our support to ensure the safety of Lagosians,” Abdulkadir said.

He noted that Mikano’s over three decades of operations in Nigeria highlight its dedication to nation-building, economic development, and security support.

“We have been in Nigeria for the past three decades. This donation shows our commitment to helping build the economy and promote security,” he added, while expressing gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the LSSTF leadership.

Receiving the vehicles, Dr. Ogunsan praised Mikano for being among the first corporate organizations to respond to the state’s call for increased private-sector involvement in security funding and logistics.

“This is a proud moment for Lagos, a proud moment for Mikano, and a proud moment for LSSTF,” Ogunsan said.

He explained that the donation was a direct outcome of the Governor’s engagement with private-sector leaders during the LSSTF Breakfast Meeting, where stakeholders were encouraged to support the Fund through both financial and material contributions.

“We made it clear that we are not only accepting cash donations but also equipment, items, and other resources that can support security operations,” he stated.

Commending Mr. Karameh’s leadership, Ogunsan described Mikano as a pacesetter in corporate support for public safety, while also urging Lagos residents to patronize businesses that actively contribute to security development.

“As you support LSSTF, remember to support those who support LSSTF. Patronize them and buy their products,” he said.

He concluded by assuring that the donated vehicles would be deployed responsibly and effectively to enhance security operations across Lagos State.
