Oluremi Tinubu Mourns Chief Adekunle Ojora, Praises Legacy of Religious Harmony

First Lady of Nigeria, , has paid a condolence visit to the family of late industrialist and elder statesman, Chief Adekunle Ojora, describing him as a devout Muslim who consistently promoted religious harmony throughout his lifetime.

The visit took place at the Ojora family residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, where the First Lady was received by the daughter of the deceased, , and her husband, former Senate President, .

Speaking during the visit, Senator Tinubu conveyed the condolences of President and expressed personal grief over the passing of the respected Lagos chief.

“You have always been in my mind and that of the President. We cannot forget him. He was always there with us as a family. This is also my family,” she said.

She noted that the late Ojora would be remembered for his wise counsel, unwavering support, and the significant role he played over the years.

The First Lady also offered words of comfort to the widow of the deceased, , commending her strength as the matriarch of the family.

“Your relationship as a couple was an inspiration to many of us. We see you and him and many wish to have that sort of bond,” she added.

Reflecting on her encounters with the late chief at church services despite his strong Islamic faith, Senator Tinubu said the family had much to be proud of, particularly his commitment to fostering interfaith unity. She described him not only as a distinguished industrialist but also as a bridge-builder who promoted peaceful coexistence through both words and actions.

Members of the Ojora family, led by the matriarch, expressed appreciation for the visit and offered prayers for the continued success of President Tinubu and the First Lady.

Chief Adekunle Ojora, the Otunba of Lagos, died on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93. He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
