Abdullahi Sesan Olowa Inspects Ongoing Infrastructure Projects Across Ibeju-Lekki Communities, Approves New Road and Drainage Works
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has conducted an extensive field inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects across several communities, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to hands-on governance and sustainable development.
During the assessment tour, Olowa visited multiple project locations to evaluate progress and ensure that infrastructure interventions meet the council’s standards for quality, relevance, and long-term impact.
At Iraboko CDA, Awoyaya, the chairman inspected a community-driven road rehabilitation effort led by residents. Commending the initiative as a strong example of participatory development, Olowa approved the paving of about 250 metres of the road to complement an existing drainage system constructed by the community.
The inspection also took him to Promise Land Estate, where he reviewed a collaborative road and drainage project executed through a partnership between residents and the local government. The council had earlier supported the project with 600 bags of cement and 30 tonnes of granite. Following the visit, the chairman approved additional materials for the construction of approximately 600 metres of drainage on both sides of the road, including a culvert, while the local government will undertake the paving of the road.
In Araromi Community, Olowa assessed several development initiatives alongside the traditional ruler, Oba Lukman Arowolo, the Gbadewolu of Araromi. The chairman inspected Governor’s Road linking the Lekki–Epe Expressway and approved the reclamation of sections reportedly encroached upon by adjoining developments.
The team also reviewed the proposed site for a new school complex and ongoing drainage works within the Ajah axis, part of what the council described as a coordinated approach to improving road access, education infrastructure, and environmental management.
At Lakowe, one of the fastest-growing areas in the local government, the chairman inspected ongoing road construction projects, focusing on construction quality, durability, and delivery timelines. He expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded while stressing that infrastructure must meet both current needs and future population demands.
Olowa reiterated that development in the council area would continue to be guided by active supervision, planning, and accountability, noting that governance must be “seen, measured and felt” by residents.
The inspection team included council legislators led by Hon. Mojeed Olayinka, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, Chief of Staff Maruf Issa Olayinka, Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator Hon. Adewale Raheem Kazeem, and other senior officials.
