APC Dismisses Dele Momodu’s 2027 Prediction, Backs Tinubu for ‘Unstoppable Victory’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described comments by media entrepreneur Dele Momodu suggesting that Bola Ahmed Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election as “wild speculation” that is not supported by political realities.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, said the claims attributed to Momodu that Tinubu would be defeated if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar contests alongside either Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi were premature and baseless.

Oladejo maintained that emerging political alignments across the country point instead to what he described as an “unstoppable victory” for President Tinubu in the next presidential poll.

According to him, many of the individuals being projected as potential challengers are currently grappling with internal political challenges within their parties and constituencies.

“Some of them are even facing rejection and resistance within their own political bases, making the suggestion of an imminent electoral upset not only exaggerated but politically unrealistic,” he said.

The APC spokesman stressed that the administration of President Tinubu remains focused on implementing reforms designed to stabilise the economy, strengthen national security and promote sustainable growth.

He added that the government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” is addressing structural economic challenges while laying the groundwork for long-term national development.

Oladejo also criticised what he described as “media conjecture and political grandstanding” by opposition figures, arguing that the opposition must demonstrate greater cohesion and clear policy direction if it hopes to gain the confidence of Nigerian voters.

“Rather than indulging in speculative permutations about elections that are still some distance away, political actors and commentators should focus on contributing constructively to national development,” he said.

The Lagos APC reaffirmed its confidence that Nigerians would continue to support Tinubu as his administration consolidates ongoing reforms and pursues economic recovery across key sectors.
