The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Aliyu Giwa, as the new Force New Media Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Nigeria Police Force has announced the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Aliyu Giwa, as its new Force New Media Officer following approval by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, forms part of ongoing efforts by the police leadership to strengthen the Force’s communication framework and improve its digital engagement with members of the public.

In his new role, CSP Giwa will oversee the management and coordination of the Nigeria Police Force’s presence across various digital and social media platforms. His responsibilities will include ensuring timely dissemination of official information, enhancing transparency, and promoting public confidence in the activities of the Force.

The move is also aligned with broader reforms within the police aimed at improving strategic communication and leveraging modern technology to support effective policing and public relations.

As Force New Media Officer, CSP Giwa is expected to work closely with the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, to deepen engagement with citizens, counter misinformation, and promote accurate reporting of police operations and activities nationwide.
