Lagos, Nigeria – March 8, 2026 – Africa’s leading payment card brand, Verve International, has announced its official membership in two major global payment standards bodies: the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) and the NEXO Standards community. The move marks a significant step in Verve’s strategy to enhance payment security, interoperability, and innovation across Africa and the global market.

The PCI Security Standards Council sets international security standards to protect cardholder data across the payment ecosystem, while NEXO Standards develops universal messaging protocols to enable seamless, interoperable payment acceptance. By joining both, Verve gains a seat at the table in shaping global payment standards and contributing African perspectives to emerging industry guidelines.
