Aroyewun Commissions Two Roads with Solar Streetlights in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Leaders Commend Development
The Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Omo’ba Ahmed Olalekan Aroyewun, has commissioned Oluwo Amoju Street and Olayinka Street, both equipped with solar-powered streetlights, as part of efforts to enhance infrastructure, security, and ease of movement within the community.
The commissioning ceremony attracted top political figures, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders who lauded the chairman’s developmental strides across the LCDA.
Delivering his goodwill message, the Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, underscored the critical role of infrastructure in community development. He described the projects as laudable achievements, noting that improved road networks significantly reduce travel time and boost economic activities within the area.
Similarly, the Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood, highlighted the importance of mentorship in leadership. He praised Hon. Aroyewun for following the developmental blueprint of his mentor, Hon. Babajimi Benson, widely known for his infrastructure-driven approach. He commended the chairman’s impact across key sectors, including roads and healthcare.
In his remarks, Senator Seye Ogunlewe advocated for greater investment in education, calling for scholarships and sponsorship opportunities for students in Ikorodu Division to support academic growth.
The traditional ruler of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali Adegoruwa, urged residents to take ownership of the newly commissioned roads by maintaining cleanliness and avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse. He noted that proper maintenance would encourage further government interventions.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Aroyewun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained development, assuring residents that more impactful projects are underway. He emphasized that the newly commissioned roads form part of a broader strategy to improve accessibility, stimulate economic activities, and enhance security through solar-powered lighting.
“The people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku should expect more developmental projects in the coming months,” the chairman stated.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), community leaders, and residents both at home and in the diaspora for their continued support. He also acknowledged the contributions of his wife, political allies, and stakeholders whose support, prayers, and guidance have aided the administration’s success.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by other dignitaries, including Pastor Samson Ogunrinde, who commended the administration’s progress and encouraged continued commitment to grassroots development.
The event further highlighted the importance of collaboration among local government leaders, with speakers emphasizing unity, healthy competition, and sustained investment in infrastructure and healthcare delivery.
