First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates Nigerian Workers, Commends Labour Force on Workers’ Day 2026

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended warm greetings and appreciation to Nigerian workers across all sectors, praising their resilience, dedication, and contributions to national development in her 2026 Workers’ Day message.

In a statement issued on Friday to mark Workers’ Day 2026, Senator Tinubu described Nigerian workers as the backbone of the nation’s progress, noting that their daily efforts continue to drive economic growth and national development.

She highlighted the contributions of public servants, private sector professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs, and other categories of workers, commending their commitment to nation-building despite prevailing challenges.

“Today, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of our workers, whose daily efforts drive the growth and development of our country,” she said.

The First Lady also acknowledged the role of trade unions in advocating for improved welfare and working conditions for Nigerian workers, expressing appreciation for their continued engagement and cooperation in strengthening the labour sector.

She urged continued collaboration between stakeholders in the labour ecosystem to ensure a more productive and supportive workforce across the country.

“Happy Workers’ Day to all Nigerians,” she added.

Workers’ Day is observed annually on May 1 to honour the contributions of workers and promote labour rights and welfare globally.
