Good Friday: Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairman Urges Reflection on Christ’s Sacrifice

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has called on Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of Good Friday, describing it as a solemn reminder of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity’s redemption.

In a message commemorating the day, Aroyewun urged Christian faithful across Igbogbo/Baiyeku and beyond to pause in reverence and gratitude, emphasizing the spiritual importance of Christ’s suffering and death on the cross. He noted that the season provides an opportunity for believers to reconnect with the core message of salvation and selfless love.

Quoting the biblical promise, “For He shall save His people from their sins,” the council boss highlighted the fulfillment of Christ’s mission through His sacrifice, which he described as the foundation of the Christian faith.

Aroyewun further encouraged residents to reflect on the depth of Christ’s love and the hope born out of His crucifixion, urging them to emulate His teachings by showing compassion, serving others, and fostering unity within their communities.

He added that the solemn observance should inspire renewed commitment among Christians to live lives of humility, kindness, and service, in line with the example set by Christ.

The chairman concluded by wishing all Christian faithful a meaningful and blessed Good Friday, praying that the occasion would draw them closer to God and strengthen their resolve to uplift one another.
