Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Expands Road Grading Initiative, Targets More Communities for Infrastructure Upgrade
The Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos has intensified its grassroots infrastructure drive, extending its ongoing inner road grading project to Lajo Community Development Association (CDA) as part of efforts to improve connectivity and boost local economic activities.
The Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, under the leadership of Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has continued to scale up its strategic infrastructure development across communities within the council area.
In its latest phase, the council’s road grading initiative has been extended to Lajo CDA, following the successful completion of similar projects in several neighbourhoods, including Olumo CDA—where over 20 streets were rehabilitated—as well as Alafia CDA, Otugbuwa Extension CDA, Lewusu CDA, and Igbo-Agbowa CDA.
The project, aimed at improving inner road networks, is designed to ease mobility challenges faced by residents, enhance access to homes and businesses, and stimulate socio-economic activities within the LCDA.
Council authorities described the expansion as a reflection of its inclusive development agenda, emphasizing that the initiative goes beyond physical road improvements to fostering equitable growth and raising living standards across all communities.
The administration noted that the sustained investment in road infrastructure aligns with its broader urban planning strategy, which prioritises accessibility, community integration, and the creation of a business-friendly environment at the grassroots level.
Residents in benefiting communities have continued to express optimism that the intervention will significantly reduce transportation challenges, especially during adverse weather conditions.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no part of the LCDA is left behind in its development efforts, as it continues to roll out projects aimed at delivering tangible dividends of governance to the people.
