IGP Disu Visits Immigration Headquarters, Seeks Stronger Border Security and Intelligence Collaboration
ABUJA, April 21, 2026 – The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has called for enhanced inter-agency collaboration in border security management and intelligence sharing as he paid a courtesy visit to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nanna Nandap, at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit, which forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security cooperation among law enforcement agencies, focused on improving coordination in tackling cross-border crimes and reinforcing Nigeria’s national security architecture.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP underscored the importance of robust inter-agency synergy in addressing evolving security threats, particularly those linked to porous borders and transnational criminal activities.
He stressed the need for stronger coordination mechanisms, joint training initiatives, and real-time intelligence exchange between security agencies, noting that effective border management remains critical to national security.
The IGP also reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to deepening collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service in order to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen overall security outcomes.
In her response, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to inter-agency cooperation and national security coordination.
She also highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of border management, transnational crime control, and intelligence sharing.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue strengthening partnerships with relevant security agencies in advancing national security and maintaining internal stability.
