Interswitch Backs 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Sponsors Key Creative Categories Through Quickteller and Verve
Lagos, Nigeria — April 27, 2026: Leading African fintech company Interswitch has reaffirmed its commitment to the continent’s creative industry with its return as a key sponsor of the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, backing major award categories through its flagship platforms, Quickteller and Verve.
In a statement released in Lagos, the company announced that Quickteller will sponsor the Best Music Score category, while Verve will support both the Best Writing in a Movie and Best Writing in a TV Series categories—segments widely regarded as critical to recognising excellence in storytelling and production across Africa’s film and television landscape.
The sponsorship highlights Interswitch’s broader strategy of investing in platforms that promote African talent, cultural expression, and industry visibility. Over the years, the fintech firm has maintained a consistent presence in initiatives that bridge technology, entertainment, and commerce.
Commenting on the partnership, Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications at Interswitch, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s belief in the power of storytelling as a driver of connection and economic growth.
She noted that the creative industry remains a vital engine for Africa’s development, adding that supporting platforms like the AMVCAs helps amplify authentic African voices while showcasing globally competitive talent.
As part of its involvement, Interswitch will also feature prominently at the awards ceremony, with senior executives presenting key categories. The Best Music Score award will be presented by Franklin Ali, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, while Eromosele will present the award for Best Writing in a Movie.
Also speaking, Tomijogun Ogunlesi, Divisional Head, Brands, Communications, Content and Storytelling, said the company remains committed to celebrating Africa’s storytelling excellence and supporting creators who reflect the continent’s cultural richness.
Beyond category sponsorship, Interswitch is set to deliver immersive brand activations during key AMVCA events, including the Cultural Day at the Federal Palace Hotel on May 8 and the main awards ceremony at Eko Hotel and Suites on May 9, 2026.
