LSSTF Boss, Ogunsan Hosts Shenzhen Comen Delegation to Strengthen Healthcare Support for Security Personnel
The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has received an international delegation from Shenzhen Comen Medical Instruments Co. Ltd. as part of efforts to enhance healthcare support and overall well-being of security operatives in Lagos State.
The delegation, led by Regional Director for Africa, Jeff Zhang, paid a courtesy visit to the LSSTF headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, where discussions focused on potential collaboration to improve access to modern medical equipment and healthcare services for officers across multiple security agencies in the state.
Also present during the visit was the Managing Director/CEO of May Care Hospitals, Ma AiMei, alongside other members of the visiting team.
Speaking during the engagement, Dr. Ogunsan emphasized that in a fast-paced and complex urban environment like Lagos, the physical and mental well-being of security personnel remains critical to effective service delivery. He noted that the LSSTF is expanding its intervention scope beyond logistics and operational support to include comprehensive human capital development.
According to him, the proposed donation of medical equipment and healthcare resources by Shenzhen Comen Medical Instruments Co. Ltd. represents a strategic intervention that will address existing gaps in occupational healthcare for officers.
“My leadership at the LSSTF has consistently maintained that security funding should not be limited to vehicles, logistics, and hardware, but must also prioritize human capital development. This is what drives operational success,” Ogunsan stated.
He further highlighted the importance of continuous training and improved welfare systems, stressing that access to quality healthcare infrastructure would significantly enhance operational readiness and performance of security personnel.
Ogunsan also called on other stakeholders and development partners to support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of officers, noting that sustained investment in their health and well-being is essential for maintaining safety and security across Lagos State.
The proposed partnership underscores a growing recognition of the link between officer welfare and effective security architecture, particularly in a megacity where personnel operate under demanding and often unpredictable conditions.
