2027 Election: Women Rally Support for Ogbara’s Re-Election Bid, Tinubu’s Second Term

Members of the ruling party, women groups, artisans and market leaders in Agboyi-Ketu have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of Kafilat Ogbara ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came during a “Meet Your Aspirant” conference organised by the lawmaker, where party faithful and community stakeholders gathered to reaffirm support for her return to the Green Chamber and for the second term ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, Adetola Adunni Abubakar, called on women in the council area to unite behind Ogbara, describing her as a strong voice for women and vulnerable groups in society.

According to her, Ogbara remains the only female representative from Lagos State in the House of Representatives, stressing the need for her to return to complete the developmental projects and empowerment programmes she has initiated across the Kosofe Federal Constituency.

She urged artisans, market men and women, youths and party members to mobilise support for the federal lawmaker during the party primaries and the general election.

Abubakar further stated that any attempt to undermine Ogbara’s political ambition should be viewed as an attack on women’s representation and participation in governance, assuring the lawmaker of her unwavering support.

In her remarks, Ogbara appealed to party members to come out en masse during the primary elections and vote for her continuation in office.

The lawmaker highlighted several achievements recorded during her tenure, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights, provision of solar boreholes and women empowerment initiatives across the constituency.

She also described herself as a voice for the vulnerable, including persons living with disabilities, widows and elderly residents within the constituency.

Ogbara stressed the need for greater inclusion and empowerment of women at all levels of government, noting that public service should be centred on improving the welfare of the people.

“The purpose of leadership is to serve the people and improve their lives,” she said.
