Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Takes Free Optimal Wellness Outreach 2.0 to Zone 2 Residents

Residents of Zone 2 in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) are set to benefit from free medical services as the council rolls out the second phase of its Optimal Wellness Outreach programme. The initiative, championed by the Executive Chairman, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, aims to improve access to quality healthcare and promote preventive wellness among residents.

The Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has announced the continuation of its flagship healthcare initiative, the Free Optimal Wellness Outreach 2.0, with the next edition scheduled to hold in Zone 2 of the council area.

According to the council, the outreach is part of the administration's commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of residents under the HOA's GLORY Agenda, which prioritises accessible and affordable healthcare for all.

The programme is slated for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Oreyo Grammar School, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Speaking on the initiative, the council reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare services, stressing that the health of the people remains a critical component of grassroots development.

Residents attending the outreach will receive a range of medical services free of charge, including medical consultations and treatment by qualified healthcare professionals.

The outreach will also feature free screening for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and Hepatitis B, aimed at promoting early detection and management of common health conditions.

In addition, qualified optometrists will conduct eye examinations, while beneficiaries requiring corrective lenses will receive eyeglasses at no cost.

The council disclosed that residents with medical conditions requiring specialist attention would be referred to appropriate healthcare facilities for further management.

Health education and wellness counselling sessions will also be conducted to equip participants with practical knowledge on healthy living and disease prevention.

The council called on community leaders, religious organisations, market associations, and residents across Zone 2 and the wider Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to support awareness efforts by sharing information about the programme and encouraging participation.

The outreach forms part of the council's broader efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve the overall quality of life of residents within the local government area.
