Lagos Police Command Mourns Death of DCP Khan Salihu, Finance and Administration Chief
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who served as the head of Finance and Administration before his passing on Monday, June 15, 2026, describing his death as a painful loss to the Force and the Command.
The announcement was contained in a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the senior officer, noting that the Command had lost a highly dedicated, disciplined, and committed officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with professionalism, loyalty, and integrity.
The statement further highlighted that DCP Salihu distinguished himself throughout his career with exemplary leadership, strong administrative competence, and a consistent commitment to effective policing and institutional efficiency within the Command.
“The news of his demise came as a profound shock and a painful loss to the officers and men of the Command,” the statement read, adding that the Commissioner of Police extended heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, and associates of the deceased.
It also prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and for God to grant his family the strength to bear the loss, while describing him as an officer whose legacy of service and dedication would continue to inspire personnel within the Command.
Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed that DCP Salihu would be remembered for his humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation.
