Oriire Kidnap: City Boy Movement Director Donates Medical Supplies, N1m to Victim’s Family, Awards Scholarships
The Director of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Hon. Olufemi Onireti, has donated medical equipment and healthcare supplies to residents of Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State following the recent abduction of teachers and pupils in the area.
Onireti made the donation during a condolence and solidarity visit to the community, where he assured residents that efforts were ongoing to secure the safe release of the kidnapped victims.
Addressing community members, he expressed confidence that the abducted teachers and pupils would soon regain their freedom, noting that security agencies and government authorities were working tirelessly to ensure their safe return.
“We have the assurance that the teachers and pupils will return safely. Government is doing everything possible to secure their release. We are here to identify with the people of Esinele and support the community during this difficult period,” he said.
An emotional scene unfolded during the visit as Onireti broke down in tears while addressing mothers and relatives of the abducted victims. As family members openly wept, he reassured them that their loved ones would return unharmed and urged them not to lose hope.
“Your children will return in peace. We share in your pain and will continue to pray and support you until they are reunited with their families,” he said.
The City Boy Movement director explained that the donated medical supplies were intended to improve access to basic healthcare services and provide immediate relief to residents of the community.
In addition to the healthcare intervention, Onireti presented a cash donation of ₦1 million to the family of late Michael Oyedokun, one of the teachers affected by the tragic incident.
He also announced scholarship awards for the late teacher’s sons, Abiodun Oyedokun and Samuel Oyedokun, to support their education.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Elesinele of Esinele, High Chief Tajudeen Abioye, commended both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government for their support and interventions since the incident occurred.
He specifically acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that government representatives who visited the community had assured residents that intensive efforts were underway to secure the release of the abducted teachers and pupils.
While expressing gratitude for the support received, the traditional ruler appealed to authorities to intensify efforts to ensure the victims regain their freedom without further delay.
“We appreciate the Federal and State Governments for standing by us during this difficult time. We have received assurances that the teachers and pupils will be released, and we urge the authorities to expedite all necessary actions to bring them home safely,” Abioye said.
The visit provided encouragement to residents and affected families as community leaders, government officials and stakeholders continue to rally support for the safe return of the abducted teachers and pupils.
