Tinubu’s Democracy Day Speech Inspires Hope, Unity, National Renewal – Seye Oladejo

LAGOS, Nigeria – A chieftain of the ruling party, Hon. Seye Oladejo, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Democracy Day address as a reassuring and inspiring message that reflects courage, visionary leadership, and a firm commitment to Nigeria’s democratic development and national renewal.

In a statement issued on Friday, Oladejo said the President’s speech demonstrated a clear understanding of the challenges facing the country and conveyed confidence in the ability of democratic institutions to address the aspirations of Nigerians.

According to him, the address came at a critical period when citizens are seeking renewed hope, improved security, and economic prosperity, adding that the President’s remarks reinforced faith in the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy and the capacity of government to deliver meaningful progress.

Oladejo commended President Tinubu for reaffirming his commitment to democratic values, constitutional governance, and the protection of the people’s mandate, noting that such principles remain fundamental to the nation’s stability and growth.

He also praised the President’s acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by pro-democracy activists and leaders whose efforts contributed to the emergence of the Fourth Republic.

“The President’s reaffirmation that democracy remains the best form of government despite its imperfections serves as a timely reminder that freedom, justice, and good governance are products of collective sacrifice and must be diligently protected,” he stated.

The APC chieftain further highlighted the President’s emphasis on national unity, inclusiveness, and active citizen participation, describing the message as one that resonates with Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious divides.

He noted that at a time when some individuals seek to exploit national challenges for political advantage, the President’s call for dialogue, cooperation, and shared responsibility offers a pathway to greater national cohesion and sustainable development.

Oladejo also expressed support for the administration’s efforts to tackle insecurity, implement economic reforms, and strengthen democratic institutions, acknowledging that while the reform process may be challenging, it remains necessary for long-term national progress.

“The President’s message conveyed optimism and inspired confidence that the difficult but necessary reforms being undertaken today will ultimately produce a more secure, prosperous, and equitable Nigeria,” he said.

As Nigerians commemorate Democracy Day, Oladejo urged citizens to remain committed to the democratic process through active participation, constructive engagement, and a collective dedication to nation-building.

He described President Tinubu’s address as a clarion call for Nigerians to rise above partisan interests and work together toward building a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.
