Fidelity Bank Renovates Lagos Orphanage, Pays School Fees,  Food Through Employee CSR Initiative

Fidelity Bank Plc has strengthened its commitment to community development with a comprehensive intervention at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos, where it renovated parts of the facility, paid school fees for children, donated food items and carried out fumigation under its employee-driven corporate social responsibility programme.

Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to health, education and community development through a comprehensive intervention at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos.

The initiative, implemented under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), the bank's flagship employee-led corporate social responsibility scheme, addressed critical needs at the orphanage, including the replacement of damaged roofing and POP ceiling, fumigation of the facility, provision of food supplies and payment of school fees for some of the children.

The outreach was championed by the bank's Audacious Class of newly inducted employees, who identified the orphanage's priority needs, mobilised resources and executed the intervention with matching support from Fidelity Bank.

Speaking during the outreach, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the initiative reflects the bank's belief that greater impact is achieved when employees are empowered to support causes that directly benefit their communities.

According to him, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme enables employees to contribute their time, resources and skills to projects that improve lives, adding that the intervention at Heritage Homes focused on infrastructure renovation, food support and educational assistance.

Nwagboh said the initiative had provided the children with safer accommodation, access to essential food supplies and the assurance that their education would continue.

He reaffirmed the bank's commitment to supporting sustainable community development projects capable of creating lasting value.

The Assistant General Manager of Heritage Homes Orphanage, Irene Light, expressed appreciation to Fidelity Bank, describing the intervention as timely and life-changing.

She said the renovation of the orphanage's roof, replacement of the damaged POP ceiling, fumigation, donation of food items and payment of school fees had brought relief, comfort and renewed hope to the children and caregivers.

Light noted that the intervention would restore dignity to the facility, create a safer and more conducive environment for the children and significantly improve their quality of life. She also commended Fidelity Bank for its continued commitment to positively impacting communities.

Fidelity Helping Hands Programme is the bank's employee-driven corporate social responsibility initiative, designed to empower staff to identify community needs, raise funds for projects and receive matching financial support from the bank for implementation.
