The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has applauded the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, describing him as "a round peg in a round hole" following an oversight visit to evaluate governance, legislative collaboration, and developmental projects within the council.

The delegation, led by the Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Ganiyu Sanni Okanlawon, included Hon. Oladele Ajayi (Ibeju-Lekki II), Hon. Samuel Apata, Hon. Olusegun Adebisi (Ege), Hon. The lawmakers were received by Hon. Olowa and members of the council's management team before proceeding to the Legislative Chamber, where they observed the council's legislative proceedings. The visit highlighted what officials described as a harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the local government.

The committee also inspected the Citrus Garden Estate, a housing development facilitated by the Olowa administration, as part of its assessment of ongoing projects across the council.

At the council's Conference Hall, Hon. Olowa presented a comprehensive overview of his administration's SHIEELD Agenda, outlining achievements in security, healthcare, infrastructure, environmental management, education, local economic development, and digital governance.

The council chairman also acknowledged the support of Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, stating that the administration's policies have created an enabling environment for local governments to deliver meaningful development and improved public services.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Okanlawon praised Olowa's leadership style and developmental record, noting that the chairman has demonstrated a clear understanding of grassroots governance.

He recalled a previous oversight visit to the council, during which he had described Olowa as "Mr. All-Rounder," adding that the pace of development witnessed then has not only been sustained but significantly expanded.

Other members of the committee also commended the chairman for what they described as transparent governance, visionary leadership, and impactful projects that have positively affected residents of Ibeju-Lekki. They urged the council to sustain its people-centred approach to governance.

The lawmakers noted that the oversight exercise reinforces the partnership between the Lagos State House of Assembly and local government councils in promoting accountability, transparency, and sustainable grassroots development.
