LSSTF-CACCOV to Host Virtual Cybersecurity Campaign on July 18, Promotes Safe Digital Practices

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund's Campaign Against Crime, Cultism and Other Vices (LSSTF-CACCOV) will hold the July 2026 edition of its virtual cybersecurity campaign on Saturday, July 18, to educate Nigerians on online safety and responsible digital citizenship amid rising cyber threats.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund's Campaign Against Crime, Cultism and Other Vices (LSSTF-CACCOV) has announced plans to host the July 2026 edition of its Cybersecurity Campaign, themed "Staying Safe in a Digital World."

The virtual event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (WAT), bringing together cybersecurity experts, technology professionals, policy advocates, youths and members of the public to discuss strategies for staying safe online in an increasingly digital society.

According to the organisers, the campaign is designed to deepen public awareness of cyber risks, including phishing, identity theft, cyberbullying, misinformation and other forms of cybercrime, while equipping participants with practical knowledge on digital safety.

The programme will be streamed live on YouTube, with interested participants expected to register ahead of the event.

Organisers also disclosed that active participants will receive over one terabyte of internet data to support their continued digital learning.

The event will be hosted by the State Coordinator of LSSTF-CACCOV, Dr. Moses Oladimeji, who stressed the growing importance of cybersecurity in everyday life.

"In today's interconnected world, security no longer begins and ends within a physical location. It extends into cyberspace, where billions of digital interactions occur every day. The ability to navigate the online space safely is an essential life skill," he said.

The campaign will feature the Lead, Security Governance and Risk at Payaza, Oluwabamise Soile, alongside the Head of Programmes and Outreaches, LSSTF-CACCOV, Meshole Emmanuel, as keynote speakers.

Participants are expected to gain insights into emerging cyber threats, online safety best practices, practical demonstrations, interactive question-and-answer sessions, networking opportunities, and access to cybersecurity resources and digital tools.

LSSTF-CACCOV said the initiative is being championed by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who serves as its Grand Patron.

The campaign is supported by strategic partners, including the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Executive Hotel & Suites, Aethelgard Global Limited, AccompliTech and Tormer.

The organisers noted that the cybersecurity campaign forms part of LSSTF-CACCOV's broader preventive security strategy, which focuses on tackling the root causes of crime through public education, advocacy and youth engagement.

They added that the initiative has continued to expand from anti-cultism campaigns in tertiary institutions and community sensitisation against drug abuse to addressing emerging security challenges in the digital space, with the goal of building a more informed, vigilant and digitally responsible society.
