CNN, Dangote Partner on Global Campaign to Showcase Africa’s Industrial Growth

CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) and Dangote Industries Limited have announced a new global, multiplatform partnership aimed at showcasing Africa’s industrial growth, economic transformation and increasing influence on the global economy.

The campaign will highlight the scale, impact and ambitions of Dangote Industries Limited, one of Africa’s largest industrial groups and the largest conglomerate in West Africa, while positioning the continent as an increasingly significant force in global commerce, innovation and consumer trends.

A major component of the partnership is the sponsorship of Africa Inc., a new half-hour programme airing on CNN International and hosted by Adefemi Akinsanya.

The programme will examine how African businesses are competing and succeeding on the global stage across sectors including technology, hospitality, manufacturing and entertainment.

Africa Inc. will premiere on August 29, 2026, with four additional episodes scheduled through 2026 and into 2027. Bespoke segments from the programme will also air bi-monthly on CNN International, supported by digital and social content on CNN.com.

The partnership further includes Africa First, a branded content series produced by CNNIC’s in-house creative studio, Create, which marks its 20th anniversary this year.

According to the companies, Africa First will spotlight the continent’s progress towards energy independence and economic transformation through human-led films, immersive data-driven articles and social media formats.

The campaign will use Dangote Industries Limited as an example of Africa’s industrial progress and its growing capacity to drive economic development from within the continent.

The multiplatform initiative will be distributed across CNN International, CNN.com and CNN Arabic, as well as CNN Business channels on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Africa First content will also appear on CNN US across television and digital platforms.

Beyond media exposure, Dangote Industries Limited will also sponsor three editions of CNN’s new Global Perspectives events franchise over the next 12 months.

Cathy Ibal, Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales, CNNIC, said the partnership reflects a shared ambition to bring stories of African innovation, resilience and leadership to a global audience.

“We are pleased to once again be working with Dangote Industries Limited to tell the stories of a self-sufficient Africa,” Ibal said.

She added that the partnership would help connect Africa’s emerging success stories with CNN’s international audience through both media and events.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, said the collaboration forms part of the company’s global brand positioning strategy.

According to him, the partnership will provide a platform to showcase the progress being made under Dangote’s Vision 2030 economic blueprint and its Africa First strategy.

Chiejina described CNNIC as a “veritable platform” for showcasing Dangote’s expanding industrial footprint across Africa, while framing the initiative as part of a broader effort to redefine the continent’s industrialisation narrative.

The Africa First branded content series launches this week, ahead of the August 29 premiere of Africa Inc. on CNN International.
