 Enugu Forest Guards Commander Appoints Geraldine Uliaga as Public Relations Officer

ENUGU – The Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guards, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Olasoji Akinbayo, has appointed Miss Uliaga Geraldine Chiagozie as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command, charging her to promote the positive image of the agency while strengthening public confidence through effective communication.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, is part of the Command's efforts to enhance strategic communication, public engagement and transparency in its operations.

According to a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the appointment underscores the Command's commitment to establishing a professional and responsive communication structure that will foster stronger collaboration between the Forest Guards, the media and residents of Enugu State in the fight against insecurity.

Miss Uliaga, a native of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, was born on May 12, 1992. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education (English Education), a qualification the Command believes will strengthen its public communication and stakeholder engagement efforts.

Announcing the appointment, Commander Akinbayo described effective communication as a critical component of modern security management, stressing that public trust is built through openness, timely dissemination of information and responsible engagement with citizens.

He urged the new Public Relations Officer to carry out her responsibilities with professionalism, integrity and dedication.

"Your appointment comes with the responsibility of serving as the public face of the Command. You must ensure that accurate information reaches the public promptly, promote the positive image of the Forest Guards, strengthen public confidence in our operations and support our mission of protecting lives, forests and communities across Enugu State through effective communication and responsible public engagement," Akinbayo said.

Responding to the appointment, Miss Uliaga expressed gratitude to the Commander for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to justify the trust through diligent service, professionalism and unwavering commitment to advancing the vision and objectives of the Enugu State Forest Guards.

Her appointment takes immediate effect.
