Fidelity Bank to Empower Northern Businesses with Quarterly Forum in Kano
Fidelity Bank Plc is set to host the next edition of its Quarterly Business Forum in Kano on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as part of efforts to equip entrepreneurs and businesses in Northern Nigeria with knowledge, connections and resources to drive sustainable growth.
The forum, themed “Positioning Northern Businesses for Growth,” will bring together business owners, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and other key stakeholders to examine emerging opportunities and trends shaping the region’s business environment.
Discussions at the event will focus on practical strategies for strengthening business operations, improving financial management, accessing finance, leveraging digital solutions, expanding market reach and building resilient enterprises capable of achieving long-term growth.
The Kano edition follows the success of Fidelity Bank’s previous Quarterly Business Forum in Port Harcourt, where entrepreneurs and business owners gained practical insights, industry connections and opportunities aimed at supporting sustainable enterprise development.
Speaking ahead of the event, Divisional Head, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank Plc, Ugochi Osinigwe, said the forum was designed to provide businesses with practical knowledge and opportunities that can improve their competitiveness.
“The Fidelity Bank Quarterly Business Forum is designed to equip businesses with practical knowledge, meaningful connections, and access to opportunities that can drive growth and competitiveness. Bringing this edition to Kano underscores our commitment to supporting businesses across Nigeria and, particularly, empowering entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria with the knowledge and resources they need to unlock their growth potential,” Osinigwe said.
The forum will feature sessions led by industry experts and business leaders, while participants will have opportunities to network, exchange experiences and gain actionable insights relevant to the realities of the current business environment.
The initiative forms part of Fidelity Bank’s broader efforts to support Nigeria’s micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through access to finance, capacity building, knowledge and strategic business networks.
The bank recently received the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Service Ambassadors Award for the Highest Impact on MSMEs Accessing Credit for the First Time, recognising its efforts to deepen financial inclusion, expand access to credit and promote enterprise growth.
Fidelity Bank said its SME-focused initiatives are aimed at helping entrepreneurs build stronger and more sustainable businesses by combining tailored financial solutions with capacity-building opportunities and business networks.
The bank, a full-fledged commercial deposit money bank, serves more than 10 million customers through digital banking channels and 255 business offices in Nigeria, as well as its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
Fidelity Bank has received several local and international recognitions, including the 2025 DBN Innovation Award for MSME support, Best Retail and SME Bank Award from Independent Newspapers, Best Bank for Export & Trade Finance and Most Innovative Bank of the Year at the 2025 BusinessDay Banks and Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards, and Nigeria’s Best Private Bank at the 2025 Euromoney Awards.
The institution has also received the inaugural Most Improved Commercial Bank of the Year award from Nairametrics, SME Bank of the Year from NewsDirect and the Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award from Citi Group, alongside recognition from Global Brands Magazine for Excellence in Community Empowerment.
