IBLCDA Takes Free Healthcare Outreach to Elepe, Over 350 Residents Benefit
The Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA) has taken its free Optimal Wellness Outreach to Elepe Kingdom, where more than 350 residents benefited from medical consultations, screenings, eye tests and other healthcare services.
The outreach, held on Saturday at Methodist Primary School, Elepe, was organised under the GLORY Agenda of the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, as part of efforts to make quality healthcare more accessible to residents across the LCDA.
Qualified doctors and health personnel provided free medical consultations and treatment to beneficiaries, while residents also received blood pressure, blood sugar and Hepatitis B screenings.
The programme further featured eye examinations, with free eyeglasses provided to residents who required them. Those identified as needing specialised medical attention were referred for further treatment, while health education and wellness counselling were also offered.
Speaking at the programme, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Olowu, welcomed residents and appreciated them for their large turnout.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan, recalled the commitment made by Chairman Aroyewun to the Elepe community, describing the outreach as the fulfilment of that promise.
Aroyewun, while addressing residents, expressed appreciation for their continued support for his administration and announced plans to rehabilitate Oba Ijaolu Road in collaboration with the Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson.
The Chairman also cited the reconstruction of the C5 Ward at the Elepe Health Care Centre as one of the administration’s key interventions in the community.
Aroyewun urged residents to continue supporting development initiatives in the LCDA, while warning against drug abuse and the dangers associated with the use of hard drugs.
On security, the Chairman called on residents to remain vigilant, particularly around uncompleted buildings, and urged them to promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
Beneficiaries and other residents at the outreach commended the council chairman for the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare and the overall well-being of residents.
The IBLCDA administration reaffirmed its commitment to extending the Optimal Wellness Outreach to other communities within the LCDA.
