Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Locally Made Gun and Live Cartridges in Odogunyan
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally made cut-to-size Danne gun along with three live cartridges during a crime prevention patrol in the Odogunyan area of Lagos, reinforcing the Command's ongoing efforts to tackle crime across the state.

The arrest was carried out by police operatives working in collaboration with members of a local vigilante group. According to the Command, the suspects were intercepted while carrying a handbag and allegedly attempted to flee after sighting the security team. They were, however, swiftly apprehended.
A search of the handbag reportedly led to the recovery of one locally made cut-to-size Danne gun and three live cartridges.
The suspects were identified as 32-year-old Arowolo Damilola and 29-year-old Adewale Adeyinka.
Police said the suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. They are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Commenting on the operation, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the police operatives and members of the local vigilante group for their vigilance, prompt response and effective collaboration, which led to the successful arrest and recovery of the firearm.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command's commitment to protecting lives and property across Lagos State, warning criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face the full weight of the law.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, also urged residents to remain security conscious and promptly report suspicious activities through the Command's emergency lines to support ongoing efforts to keep Lagos safe.
