The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated five refurbished operational vehicles, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Services Group, as part of efforts to strengthen the operational capacity, safety and welfare of security personnel protecting Lagos State.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has reinforced its commitment to enhancing security in Lagos with the donation of five refurbished operational vehicles, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Services Group.

The presentation, held at the Air Force base, is part of the Lagos State Government's sustained investment in equipping security agencies with operational assets needed to tackle evolving security challenges and maintain public safety across the state.

Presenting the equipment, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, said the intervention was aimed at improving the operational readiness, protection and welfare of Air Force personnel serving in Lagos.

He noted that the provision of ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats forms part of the Trust Fund's broader strategy of ensuring that frontline security personnel are adequately equipped to carry out their constitutional responsibilities safely and effectively.

Dr. Ogunsan commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism, discipline and contributions to maintaining security in Lagos and across Nigeria.

"On behalf of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the board and management of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, we appreciate your unwavering support for the security of Lagos. Your contribution is invaluable," he said.

He stressed that investing in the welfare and protection of security personnel remains critical to building a resilient security architecture capable of responding swiftly to emerging threats.

"We will continue to encourage you and boost your morale. This is just the beginning. We are committed to providing the support necessary to enable you to give your best whenever duty calls in Lagos," he added.

Dr. Ogunsan further assured the officers that the Lagos State Government, through the LSSTF, would continue to complement the efforts of security agencies by providing operational support that enhances effectiveness, morale and inter-agency collaboration.

Receiving the vehicles and protective equipment on behalf of the Nigerian Air Force, the Commander of the 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the LSSTF for the continued partnership.

He described the donation as another demonstration of the strong collaboration between the Trust Fund and security agencies, noting that the equipment would significantly improve the safety and operational efficiency of Air Force personnel deployed across Lagos State.

As part of the visit, Air Commodore Imam conducted Dr. Ogunsan on a tour of the 651 Base Services Group's facilities, highlighting the unit's operational capabilities and ongoing contributions to national security.

Dr. Ogunsan was accompanied by the LSSTF Director of Administration, Mr. Adegbola Lewis. Also present at the event were senior Nigerian Air Force officers, including Squadron Leader John Jeremiah Hibin, Squadron Leader Cosmos Emeka Francis, Flight Lieutenant Moshood Adekanmbi and Flying Officer H.M. Koimi.
