NDLEA Lagos Strategic Command Decorates 231 Promoted Officers, Commends 11 for Outstanding Service

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Lagos Strategic Command has decorated 231 officers who recently earned promotions after successfully passing the agency's promotion examinations and interviews, while also recognising 11 officers for their outstanding performance and dedication to duty.

The decoration ceremony, held on Monday at the command headquarters, was presided over by the Lagos Strategic Commander, Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN) Abubakar Liman Wali.

In his address, Wali expressed appreciation to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), CON, OFR, for ensuring that deserving officers are promoted promptly.

He congratulated the newly promoted and commended officers, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through greater commitment to their responsibilities.

According to the commander, promotion comes with increased responsibility, stressing that the officers are expected to redouble their efforts in combating illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse across Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

"To whom much is given, much is expected," Wali said, adding that the agency remains committed to strengthening its operational capacity through motivation and recognition of excellence.

Goodwill messages were delivered by members of the NDLEA's top management as well as family members of the celebrated officers, who encouraged them to remain dedicated, grateful to the agency, and focused on the effective discharge of their duties.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Commander of Narcotics Titilope Ogunluyi expressed gratitude to the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, the Lagos Strategic Commander, and all guests who attended the ceremony.

She assured the agency's leadership that the officers would remain committed to advancing the NDLEA's mandate of curbing drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
