Osun 2026: Prophet Ikuru Celebrates Adeleke’s Re-election, Says Prophesy Fulfilled
OSOGBO, Osun State — The General Overseer of Jehovah Eye Witness Ministry, Lagos, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has celebrated the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election, saying the outcome fulfilled what he described as a divine promise.
Ikuru, who had earlier called on the people of Osun State to support Adeleke ahead of the election, said he was particularly grateful that the governor’s re-election had come to pass as he had predicted.
The cleric said his earlier declaration was based on what he described as a message from God that Adeleke would retain his position, stressing that the outcome of the election had vindicated the prophecy.
According to him, “God promised Adeleke his re-election, and God has fulfilled His promise.”
Ikuru congratulated Governor Adeleke on his victory and commended the people of Osun State for participating in the electoral process.
He particularly praised voters across the state for, according to him, coming out to exercise their franchise and vote according to their conscience.
The prophet also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as a successful conduct of the governorship election.
Ikuru said the peaceful participation of voters and the conduct of the election demonstrated the importance of allowing citizens to freely determine who governs them through the ballot.
His latest statement follows his earlier intervention in the Osun political debate, when he urged residents to support Adeleke, saying he had received divine direction to encourage the people to stand behind the governor.
At the time, Ikuru had said his position was not based on personal or political interest but on what he described as divine instruction.
With Adeleke emerging victorious at the polls, the cleric has now described the election result as the fulfilment of the promise he said he received concerning the governor’s political future.
He also called on the people of Osun State to unite after the election and support the administration as it begins another term in office, stressing the need for peace and development across the state.
