Osun 2026: Prophet Ikuru Urges Residents to Support Adeleke, Cites Divine Direction

OSOGBO, Osun State — The Founder and General Overseer of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Lagos, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has called on the people of Osun State to support Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying his position was based on what he described as a divine instruction.

The cleric made the call while commenting on the political developments in Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to Ikuru, he received what he described as a spiritual directive to encourage the people of the state to stand behind the incumbent governor.

“God told me to release power in the air for people to stand by Adeleke. That is God’s direction, and I stand by God’s direction,” the prophet said.

Ikuru stressed that his call was not motivated by personal or political interest but by what he claimed was divine guidance.

He urged residents of the state to remain peaceful and allow the democratic process to run its course, while encouraging them to consider supporting Adeleke at the polls.

The statement comes against the backdrop of heightened political activities and intense competition among political parties and candidates ahead of the Osun governorship election.

As campaigns and mobilisation efforts reach their climax, political actors, religious figures, traditional institutions and other stakeholders have continued to make appeals to voters across the state.

Ikuru's intervention adds a religious dimension to the ongoing political discourse, with the cleric presenting his endorsement of Adeleke as a response to what he believes is a divine directive.

The Osun governorship election is expected to attract significant attention as voters decide whether to retain the incumbent administration or elect a new governor to lead the state.
