 Oyo TESCOM Chairman Visits Oriire Abduction Victims, Assures Continued Government Support

The Oyo State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has assured teachers and students affected by the recent abduction in Oriire Local Government Area of continued government support as they recover from the traumatic experience.

The assurance was given when a delegation led by the TESCOM Chairman, Mrs Olubukola Oladipo, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Serifat Abimbola, and other senior officials of the commission, paid a sympathy visit to the victims and their immediate families on Wednesday.

The delegation expressed the government’s concern over the incident and reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, safety and recovery of the affected teachers and students.

Speaking during the visit, Oladipo commended the victims for their courage and resilience in the face of the traumatic experience.

She assured them that the government would continue to provide the necessary support to enable them recover fully and return to their normal academic and professional activities.

The TESCOM chairman also disclosed that the government was putting new safety mechanisms in place to strengthen security in public schools and prevent a recurrence of similar incidents across the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Mrs Serifat Abimbola, urged the affected teachers and students not to be discouraged by the incident, assuring them that appropriate measures were being implemented to improve their safety.

Abimbola also presented gifts and relief materials to the victims, noting that the gesture was part of the government’s efforts to support their mental and emotional recovery from the trauma.

Responding on behalf of the victims, one of the affected teachers expressed appreciation to the Oyo State Government and TESCOM for the visit, describing the gesture as a source of comfort and encouragement.

The visit ended with prayers for the victims and their families, as the delegation reiterated calls for stronger security measures in public schools and communities across Oyo State.
