APC South-West Youth Leader Commends FG on National Youth Conference 2026

.....Adesuyi Daramola says conference will give Nigerian youths greater voice in nation-building

The APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, has commended the Federal Government for its initiative to convene the National Youth Conference 2026, describing the planned gathering as a timely platform for empowering young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Daramola said the conference, being convened under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demonstrates the government’s commitment to giving Nigerian youths a stronger voice in policy formulation and the future of the country.

The National Youth Conference, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, is scheduled to hold in October and is expected to bring together young Nigerians from across the country and the diaspora.

According to the programme outline, the conference will focus on governance and political participation, economic transformation and job creation, education and skills development, technology and digital transformation, climate change and energy transition, as well as social cohesion and security.

Daramola noted that the planned representation from Nigeria’s 360 federal constituencies, alongside diaspora delegates, stakeholders and observers, would promote wider grassroots participation and ensure that diverse youth perspectives are captured.

He urged young Nigerians to take advantage of the consultation and registration process by submitting practical ideas and policy proposals capable of addressing the challenges confronting the nation.

> “This is more than a conference; it is an opportunity for Nigerian youths to take ownership of their future, contribute ideas and become active partners in nation-building,” Daramola said.

The APC South-West Youth Leader also commended the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and the planning committee for designing a process centred on youth ownership, inclusivity, transparency, innovation and accountability.

Daramola expressed optimism that recommendations emerging from the conference would translate into concrete policies and programmes that improve opportunities for Nigerian youths and strengthen their participation in national development.

He further called on youths across the South-West and Nigeria at large to participate actively in the process and help ensure that the conference achieves its intended purpose.
