Dangote Refinery IPO: Investors Can Now Subscribe Through Moniepoint Agents Nationwide
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expanded access to its ongoing Initial Public Offering (IPO), allowing prospective investors to subscribe for shares through participating Moniepoint Point-of-Sale (POS) agents across Nigeria.
The initiative is aimed at widening retail participation in the offer and bringing the opportunity to own shares in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery closer to millions of Nigerians, particularly those in communities where agency banking is a major channel for accessing financial services.
Under the new arrangement, prospective investors can visit participating Moniepoint agents to complete their subscription through the approved process.
The development represents a significant expansion of the subscription channels available to investors as the refinery seeks to build one of the broadest shareholder bases in Africa.
The shares are being offered at N525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares, requiring an initial investment of N5,250.
Investors can also make multiple subscriptions during the offer period, allowing them to increase their holdings progressively.
According to the company, the deployment of the Moniepoint agency network is part of efforts to democratise investment opportunities and enable more Nigerians to participate in the ownership of the refinery.
“One of the key objectives of this public offer is to broaden participation and make share ownership accessible to ordinary Nigerians. By leveraging the extensive Moniepoint agent network, we are bringing the opportunity to invest in the Dangote Refinery closer to the people, wherever they may be,” the company said.
The company said agency banking has played an important role in expanding financial inclusion in Nigeria by taking financial services closer to underserved communities.
It added that the same infrastructure is now being leveraged to reduce barriers to participation in the capital market.
The initiative is also expected to support the refinery's ambition of developing a broad and diversified shareholder community, with millions of Nigerians holding direct stakes in the company.
Prospective subscribers using Moniepoint agents are required to complete transactions through the approved subscription process and retain their receipts as evidence of payment.
Investors will also receive confirmation of their subscriptions through SMS notifications sent to their registered telephone numbers.
The company advised prospective investors to carefully review the IPO Prospectus and seek professional advice from licensed stockbrokers or financial advisers before making investment decisions.
Details of the approved subscription channels and the Prospectus are available through the IPO portal.
With the addition of participating Moniepoint agents to its subscription channels and a minimum investment requirement of N5,250, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO is seeking to make share ownership accessible to a wider segment of Nigeria's retail investing public.
