Interswitch Unveils TechConnect 6.0 to Drive Adaptive Financial Infrastructure Across Nigeria
LAGOS, Nigeria — September 21, 2026: Interswitch, a leading African payments and digital commerce company, has announced the sixth edition of its TechConnect industry engagement series, with a focus on building adaptive, secure and interconnected financial infrastructure capable of responding to the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market,” TechConnect 6.0 will kick off in Owerri, Imo State, on September 24, 2026, before moving to Abuja, Ibadan and Lagos in October.
The initiative is expected to convene stakeholders across government, financial services, technology and the wider business community to examine the infrastructure, partnerships and capabilities required to support increasingly digital and interconnected markets.
The Owerri edition, scheduled to hold at Protea Hotel, will feature a keynote address, fireside chat, panel discussion, product demonstrations and networking sessions.
The keynote will be delivered by Mr. Justice R. Okoye, FCA, ACTI, Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, who will examine the role of adaptive financial infrastructure in strengthening institutions, improving service delivery and expanding economic participation.
Speaking ahead of the event, Tyoyila Aga, Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth, Interswitch, said organisations must design infrastructure with continuous change in mind as markets, customer expectations and business requirements evolve.
“Building for what’s next means designing infrastructure with change being top of mind. Markets, customer expectations and business needs will continue to evolve, so the systems that support them must be scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient enough to evolve with them,” Aga said.
She added that the opportunity extends beyond the adoption of new technologies to developing connected infrastructure capable of supporting emerging services, channels and business models.
A major feature of the Owerri programme will be a panel session titled “Building a Digital Economy: The Role of Government, Industry and Talent in Shaping the Future.”
The panel will feature Dr. Kalu Nnachi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Zikora Microfinance Bank Limited; Celestine Obiosa Uzor, Managing Director, Premise2Cloud ICT Solutions Limited; Emmanuel Alozie, Technology and Process Automation, Abia State Internal Revenue Service; Tyoyila Aga, Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth, Interswitch; and Pamela Imobieye, Regional Business Head, South-Edo, Interswitch.
The session will be moderated by Faith Ukpai, Lead, Partner & Client Management (Sales and Accounts), Interswitch.
Discussions will focus on how government, financial institutions, technology providers and businesses can collaborate to develop connected and sustainable digital solutions.
Participants are also expected to examine key requirements for operating digital systems reliably at scale, including interoperability, cybersecurity, data protection, resilience and the capacity of infrastructure to adapt to changing customer and business needs.
Another highlight will be a fireside chat titled “Driving Digital Transformation Through Public-Private Partnerships,” featuring Nomso Ebonwu, Honourable Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Anambra State Government, and Robinta Aluyi, Chief Sales Officer, Interswitch. The session will be moderated by Suliat Aliyu, Head, Partnership, Interswitch.
The conversation will explore the roles of government, private-sector organisations and technology professionals in advancing digital transformation and building a more connected digital economy.
The event will also feature product showcases designed to demonstrate Interswitch’s payment and digital commerce capabilities and how its infrastructure can support businesses, financial institutions and public-sector organisations across different use cases and channels.
According to Interswitch, the central focus of TechConnect 6.0 is the need for financial infrastructure to evolve alongside the markets and communities it serves.
The company noted that as payment behaviours change, businesses increasingly adopt digital models and public institutions seek more efficient service-delivery mechanisms, adaptable and interconnected infrastructure will become increasingly important in enabling seamless experiences and expanding economic participation.
Following the Owerri event, the TechConnect 6.0 series will move to Abuja on October 13, Ibadan on October 22, and Lagos on October 27, 2026.
The four-city engagement will provide stakeholders from different sectors and markets with opportunities to exchange ideas, share practical experiences and examine the infrastructure, innovation and partnerships required to support the continued growth of digital finance in Nigeria.
Through TechConnect 6.0, Interswitch seeks to facilitate practical conversations among government, financial services, technology and business stakeholders on how financial infrastructure can remain responsive to changing markets, emerging technologies and evolving customer needs.
