YABATECH Comes Alive as Bigi, Fearless Power Soundcity OnTour

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, was transformed into a hub of music, dance and youthful creativity as Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink and Fearless Energy Drink powered the Soundcity OnTour activation on campus.

The three-day event, held from September 15 to 17, temporarily shifted students’ attention from lectures and routine academic activities to a vibrant mix of music, talent competitions, dance and live entertainment.

The activation, organised with leading brands from the stable of Rite Foods Limited, featured campus engagements designed to give students opportunities to showcase their creative talents and connect with the entertainment industry.

A major highlight was the Bigi Music Competition, which saw aspiring artistes compete across different musical styles for the chance to emerge as the YABATECH campus winner.

The winner is set to receive a ₦1 million cash prize and an opportunity to advance to the national stage of the competition.

Dancers also took centre stage through the Fearless Dance Challenge, as students displayed their creativity, energy and performance skills in a contest that further heightened the excitement across the campus.

The three-day engagement culminated on September 17 with a live Soundcity OnTour concert featuring performances by Modola, Tariq, Syemca, Slimcase, Mr. P, Kodee, Duuwa and Rukmani.

The artistes delivered performances that kept students singing, dancing and participating actively in the campus celebration.

Speaking on the activation, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the company remained committed to creating platforms that enable young Nigerians to express their creativity and explore opportunities.

According to him, young people are actively shaping contemporary culture and deserve platforms that can help them develop their talents.

“Young people are not waiting for culture to happen; they are creating it every day. Through the Bigi and Fearless brands, we want to meet them where that creativity is most visible and give them platforms where they can express themselves, discover their capabilities and connect with opportunities beyond the immediate moment,” Eze said.

The YABATECH stop provided students with more than a concert experience, combining music, competition and talent discovery in an environment that encouraged self-expression.

For three days, the campus became a stage for emerging artistes and dancers, with students taking centre stage to showcase their talents and celebrate music and entertainment.
