Over 150 Exhibitors Participate in 2024 Odu’a International Trade Fair in Ibadan
The 2024 Odu’a International Trade Fair is underway, hosting over 150 exhibitors at the Expoyo Ground, Sango, Ibadan, from October 18 to 29. Co-hosted by the six Southwestern states—Oyo, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun—the trade fair is positioned to become the largest business event in the South-West region, bringing together industry leaders and entrepreneurs to showcase the region’s rich economic potential.
Chief Kola Akosile, Chairman of the 2024 Odu’a International Trade Fair organizing committee, highlighted the diversity of exhibitors representing multiple sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and electronics. "This event provides a unique platform to strengthen the economy, offering extensive trade opportunities within the six Southwest states," he stated.
The trade fair’s agenda includes a showcase of regional agricultural expertise, with a focus on food security and leveraging natural resources. Chief Akinwande, President of the Odu’a Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ODU'ACCIMA), assured participants of robust security measures, supported by the Oyo State government through the DSS, Amotekun, and officers from the Sango Divisional Police Station.
Dr. Daniel Gbadero, President of the Oyo State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OYCCIMA), underscored the importance of local production. “We are blessed with abundant raw materials, minerals, and agricultural resources. This fair emphasizes the value of these resources and encourages us to prioritize domestic production,” he said.
In addition to traditional sectors, the fair will also highlight cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence, satellite imaging for agriculture, and advanced technology displays, underscoring the role of precision agriculture in enhancing regional productivity.
