First Lady, Top Officials Visit Family of Late Chief of Army Staff to Offer Condolences
First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu with the widow of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja during a condolence visit by the First Lady to the home of Late Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja on Wednesday 6th November, 2024
Abuja, Nigeria — The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, along with key dignitaries, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, who recently passed away at the age of 56 after an illness.
Accompanying the First Lady were the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the National Security Adviser, Hajia Ribadu. The group was welcomed by Mrs. Oghogho Musa, wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, before meeting with Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, the late general's widow, and their children.
Offering words of comfort, Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of faith, noting that "only God determines the length of a man’s life." She encouraged Mrs. Lagbaja and the children to find strength in the legacy of service and honor the general left behind. She further advised the children to stay focused and uphold the ideals their father championed.
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja was a respected military leader remembered for his dedication and contributions to the nation. His passing has left a profound impact on Nigeria’s military community.
