Governor Soludo Delivers 12.5km Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugu Umuonyia Road, Fulfills Promise to Anambra Communities
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has fulfilled his promise to the people by completing the 12.5km Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugu Umuonyia-Achina Road, a vital infrastructure project linking several communities.
The newly completed road, part of the governor’s aggressive infrastructural development drive, underscores his commitment to transforming Anambra into a hub of economic activity and connectivity. Governor Soludo’s administration has been lauded for turning the state into a “construction site” with ongoing and completed road projects aimed at boosting commerce and accessibility.
A community leader from Umuonyia, Mr. Izuchuckwu Eze, praised the governor for keeping his word, noting the transformative impact of the road. “This project will make our communities more accessible, ensure the availability of farm products across the state, and enhance small-scale businesses in the area,” he stated.
The Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugu Umuonyia Road follows the recent commissioning of the 11.9km Mmiata-Anam-Nzam Road, which connects Anambra West Local Government Area headquarters. During the commissioning, Governor Soludo recalled his commitment to Ndi Anambra West: “I promised that if I failed to build this road to your headquarters, you should stone me if I ever came back to campaign or ask for anything,” he declared.
In a bid to maintain the momentum, the State Executive Council has approved the construction of new roads across the 21 Local Government Areas, with a six-month delivery timeline. Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, confirmed that ongoing projects would also be expedited to completion.
Governor Soludo’s administration has been praised for its blend of vision and execution, positioning Anambra as a destination brand while unlocking the state’s vast economic and human potential.
