Ibeju-Lekki Public Service Staff Fellowship Holds Annual Carol Service, Hon. Olowa Urges Prayers and Support
The Ibeju-Lekki Chapter of the Lagos State Public Service Staff Fellowship celebrated its annual end-of-year thanksgiving and Christmas Carol service on Monday, December 18, 2024. The event, themed "O Come, Let Us Sing Unto the Lord" and drawn from Psalm 95:1, was graced by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, as the special guest.
In his address to the congregation, Hon. Olowa expressed gratitude to the Christian community for their steadfast support of his administration, marking his third consecutive attendance at the celebration. Drawing inspiration from 2 Corinthians 5:7 and Isaiah 55, he encouraged the audience to trust in God during challenging times, emphasizing that His ways are not ours, and He ultimately works all things for good.
The Executive Chairman also called for prayers for the nation and its leaders, urging collective support for governance. He extended warm wishes for a refreshing and renewed Christmas season while wishing everyone a prosperous New Year in advance.
Pastor Aje Kamoli Babatunde, the Coordinator of the Lagos State Public Service Staff Fellowship, Ibeju-Lekki Branch, praised Hon. Olowa for his inclusive and compassionate leadership style, describing him as a father figure who has provided both moral and financial support to the Fellowship. Pastor Aje expressed gratitude for the privilege of witnessing another Christmas Carol and prayed for a fruitful New Year ahead.
The Carol service was well attended by notable figures, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo; Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan; Councillor representing Ward C2, Hon. Olamilekan Al-Mubaraq Higara; Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Mathew Ameh; Pastor Banjo Julius; and management and staff of Ibeju-Lekki Council, among others.
The event was a moment of reflection, thanksgiving, and celebration, reinforcing the spirit of unity and hope among the attendees.
