NSCDC FCT Commandant Commends Personnel for Ensuring Peaceful Yelutide Season

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has commended the resilience and dedication of his personnel in maintaining peace and security throughout the festive season.

Dr. Odumosu expressed his satisfaction during a monitoring exercise to assess the security situation in various parts of the FCT. He praised the visible presence and commitment of his officers, noting that their efforts have ensured a peaceful and hitch-free celebration for residents of the capital city.

"The overwhelming presence of our personnel on surveillance and at designated locations reflects our collective determination to safeguard the lives and properties of FCT residents. Both our armed officers and those on covert operations are fully prepared to make this national assignment a success," he stated.

The Commandant reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT Command to work in synergy with other security agencies to provide a secure environment for residents. He emphasized that the command would not tolerate any criminal activities, especially during the festive season.

"We cannot allow miscreants and vandals to exploit the celebratory mood to carry out evil acts. Our personnel are on 24-hour surveillance, particularly in dark spots, to ensure that such plots are foiled," he said.

Dr. Odumosu urged residents to celebrate without fear but to remain vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest security office. He also commended the developmental strides of the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, and called on residents to support the government's efforts to give the capital city a facelift.

"Residents must take ownership of government installations in their vicinity and report any act of vandalism promptly. Together, we can protect our city and ensure its continued growth," he added.

The Commandant concluded by wishing all FCT residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
