Prado Winner, Others Receive Prizes at Glo Festival of Joy in Lagos
A civil contractor, Ayobami Adejumobi, emerged as the latest winner of a brand-new Toyota Prado in the ongoing Globacom "Festival of Joy" promotion. The prize was presented at a ceremony held on Thursday at Gloworld, Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Other Globacom subscribers also walked away with various prizes, including tricycles (Keke Marwa), sewing machines, grinding machines, and power generators.
Adejumobi, an Osun State native residing in Lagos, expressed disbelief and gratitude after receiving the keys to his new car from the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who served as the Special Guest of Honour. “The call from Globacom was hard to believe at first; I thought it might be a scam. But I remembered participating in the promo and decided to check. I thank Glo immensely for this life-changing prize,” Adejumobi said. He added that the vehicle would enhance his status and help him secure more contracts in his work as a civil engineering contractor.
Other winners, including Daniel Eleh from Benue State, who won a sewing machine; Ayodeji Olukunmi, a 33-year-old generator winner; and Bukola Olatunji from Ijebu-Ode, who took home a tricycle, also shared their excitement. Olatunji, a long-time participant in Glo promotions, expressed hope for future wins, saying, “I have always participated faithfully and never gave up.” Eleh and Olukunmi also lauded Globacom for its generosity, with Olukunmi describing the generator as a “timely blessing.”
Speaking at the event, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat commended Globacom for its impactful initiatives during challenging times in Nigeria. “This is happening at a critical time, and we must thank Glo for putting smiles on people’s faces. We hope this initiative grows even bigger next year,” he said.
