FCID Annex Lagos Holds Maiden Strategic Lecture, Decorates 37 Newly Promoted Officers
Lagos, 14th January 2025 – The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, AIG Ogbodo Augustina, PSC, has emphasized the importance of professionalism and continuous development within the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking during the maiden strategic lecture held for detectives at the FCID Annex in Lagos, AIG Ogbodo highlighted the necessity of regular training and retraining, focusing on technical skills and attitude. She reiterated that only certified officers equipped with the requisite competencies would be assigned to serve in the FCID.
AIG Ogbodo also cautioned officers against meddling in civil matters, particularly land disputes, and praised the detectives for their dedication and hard work, noting the significant reduction in crime rates nationwide under their watch.
As part of the event, AIG Ogbodo led the decoration of 37 newly promoted officers, including one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 13 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), and 23 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). The promotion was approved by the Police Service Commission following recommendations by the Inspector General of Police. AIG Ogbodo was joined in the decoration ceremony by the Commissioners of Police and the FCID Annex management team.
In her remarks, AIG Ogbodo commended the newly promoted officers for their commitment and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in their duties. She described discipline as the cornerstone of success in the police force and urged officers to resist corrupt practices while contributing positively to the development of the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ACP Muhammed Ahmed Usman expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for recognizing their efforts with the promotions. He also thanked AIG Ogbodo and the FCID Annex management for their guidance and assured the force of their unwavering commitment to ethical practices and excellence in service.
The event, which marked a significant milestone in the careers of the decorated officers, was attended by family members, friends, and other stakeholders, creating a celebratory and memorable atmosphere.
