Governor Soludo Transforms Ekwulobia into Anambra’s Fourth Cosmopolitan City
Ekwulobia, one of Anambra State’s major towns, is undergoing a remarkable transformation under Governor Charles Soludo’s urban regeneration initiative. The governor is positioning the town as the state’s fourth cosmopolitan city, equipping it with modern infrastructure to sustain its rapid economic growth.
Governor Soludo’s proactive approach is ensuring that Ekwulobia does not evolve into another unplanned urban area lacking essential government infrastructure. His administration’s interventions are enhancing the city’s economic viability and improving the quality of life for residents.
Major Infrastructural Developments
According to the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, one of the most notable projects is the newly constructed flyover, which has significantly reduced traffic congestion and opened new economic opportunities by improving connectivity for businesses. The flyover is also equipped with modern lighting, enhancing security and nighttime activities.
Other critical road projects in the city include the Nanka-Ekwulobia-Aguata Council Area Headquarters Road (2km) and the Ekwulobia-Isuofia Road (1.125km). Additional infrastructure developments include a modern bus terminal, a fuel station, a security office, a fire station, a sewage treatment facility, drainage systems, and extensive landscaping.
Ultra-Modern Market and Recreational Facilities
Governor Soludo’s administration is also constructing an ultra-modern market to accommodate traders and provide a structured business environment. A new motor park is in the works, alongside sports and recreational facilities designed to host major sporting events, international concerts, and cultural festivals.
Unlocking Ekwulobia’s Potential
Ekwulobia is rapidly evolving into a vibrant urban center with immense economic potential. Through these innovative projects, Governor Soludo is laying the foundation for sustainable development and an enabling environment for growth in Anambra State.
