Hon. Olowa Charges Newly Recruited Health Workers on Professionalism and Ethics

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has urged newly recruited health personnel to uphold professionalism, ethics, and the noble values of their profession as they assume their roles in various Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) across the local government area.

Addressing the recruits on Monday, Hon. Olowa emphasized the critical nature of their responsibilities, reminding them that their duty to save lives must remain paramount. He urged them to adhere strictly to ethical standards and uphold the integrity of the medical profession.

"The health sector is a noble profession, and your sworn oath to protect lives sets you apart. I charge you to always act with professionalism and dedication because the well-being of our citizens depends on you," he stated.

The council chairman also assured health personnel assigned to remote locations that they would be provided with official quarters to ease their accommodation challenges and enhance their efficiency. He expressed confidence that the new workforce would contribute positively to improving healthcare delivery in the local government.

The recruitment process began on January 8, 2025, with an open call for applications. Hon. Olowa reaffirmed that the selection process was transparent, free, and fair, ensuring that only qualified candidates were appointed.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Tajudeen Sindiku Oniwonlu; Hon. Olamilekan Higara; the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ososanya; and the Head of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Sotubo Adeyemi O.

The new recruits are expected to begin work immediately, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services for residents.
