Wike Fighting to Shield PDP from Political Predators – Group
...Holds Prayers for Party, National Secretary Anyanwu
A political support group has rallied behind the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, commending his unwavering commitment to strengthening the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and shielding it from forces seeking its downfall.
The group, known as the PDP Progressives Pillars, also expressed solidarity with the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, during a special prayer session held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. The gathering sought divine intervention for the party’s stability and leadership.
In a statement signed by its leader, Hon. Samuel Obande, the group hailed Wike as a straightforward and fearless leader, resolute in his efforts to revive the PDP. They described him as a pillar of strength who cannot be deceived by those they termed “desperate undertakers” aiming to weaken the party for their own selfish interests.
Obande further highlighted Wike’s consistent contributions, both financially and strategically, to fostering unity within the PDP. He credited the Minister with enhancing trust, inclusivity, and teamwork across all levels of the party, describing these efforts as undeniable proof of his goodwill and dedication.
Despite Wike’s sacrifices, Obande lamented ongoing attempts by political detractors to undermine him, accusing them of launching smear campaigns to destabilize the party. He labeled these individuals as “vampires” intent on draining the PDP’s strength and called on them to desist from their actions.
The group reaffirmed its confidence in Wike’s leadership, urging all stakeholders to allow him to continue his work unimpeded. They expressed optimism that under his guidance, the PDP would regain its footing and emerge as a formidable force in the 2027 elections.
