AIG Zone 2 Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Advocates People-Centered Policing
LAGOS – The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Fayoade M. Fayoade, has urged newly promoted senior officers to uphold professionalism and adopt a people-friendly approach to policing.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held on March 27, 2025, at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Fayoade decorated several newly promoted officers, including DCP Olayinka Ajeigbe, ACP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, and ACP Kazeem Kabir Afolabi.
He lauded the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), for approving the promotions, describing them as well-deserved recognitions of the officers’ dedication and service to the Force.
Addressing the officers, AIG Fayoade emphasized the need for exemplary leadership, urging them to guide their subordinates with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to public trust. He reiterated the importance of community-friendly policing in strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the public.
In his response, DCP Olayinka Ajeigbe, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the PSC Chairman for acknowledging their efforts. He pledged their unwavering commitment to fulfilling their new responsibilities with diligence.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the decorated officers.
